What makes these types of moves challenging?
Moving from a serviced office where everything is included in the rent to setting up in an empty unit can be difficult from a technical point of view. To ensure that nothing is left to chance, it’s vital to check the coverage and services available, whilst at the same time creating solutions that maximise the use of space.
When you factor in the costs associated with downtime and setup delays, it’s vital to hit the ground running when you relocate.
The Sphere IT Approach
We focused on keeping things simple by getting to know the needs of the client as if they were our own. We started by listening to their plans for expansion, surveying the infrastructure they were currently using, and visiting the new unit.
This allowed us to outline the internet services that would be available to them at their new address and quote accordingly.
By including pricing for structured cabling installation, including Cat6 and power for all desks and necessary comms, we were able to give a single transparent price that covered everything needed.
By liaising with the main providers we were able to oversee the installation and commissioning of a fibre leased line, as well as a backup ADSL line. This was done in advance of the moving in date and was dovetailed with a number of other key activities:
- Installed an enterprise grade router, all switches and a managed WiFi solution
- Checked for full WiFi coverage right across the new unit
- Installed an IP telephone system and ensured consistent service
- Attended the old office on Friday evening to decommission and pack all of the necessary tech, including 40 Macs, monitors and stands
- Installed all equipment at the new office the next morning to check connectivity in time for the Monday launch date
